Paris Climate Accord: A Beacon of Hope
The Paris Climate Accord acknowledges that the threat of climate change is "urgent and potentially irreversible," and can only be addressed with deep reductions in oil, gas and coal use. A large global investment in new technologies such as safe fusion nuclear power will be necessary to meet the demands of climate change and to alter the operational behavior of the power grid, transportation, and manufacturing.
After obtaining his PhD in Power Systems Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Dr. Giras was awarded the patent for the first all-digital computer version of the smart grid. Dr. Giras applied his experience in electric technologies as a Research Professor at the University of Virginia.
