Conductors as Leaders
Have you ever wondered what conductors are really doing when they wave their arms in front of a large ensemble? It turns out that conductors have much to teach us about leadership. This course will examine the conductor's art and craft, focusing upon effective nonverbal communication, the development of emotional intelligence, expressing your personal style, and motivating others. This is a "hands on" class in which participants will be encouraged to move and express themselves.
Kate Tamarkin is the Conductor Laureate of the Charlottesville Symphony and has 35 years of experience as a conductor and educator.
