The Life and Times of Margaret Thatcher

The circumstances which paved the path to power for Margaret Thatcher bear some resemblance to those of today. In the first session, we will discuss why Britain needed a leader like Mrs. Thatcher and the vacuum she filled. In the second  session, we will discuss some of the battles she fought and won and how she transformed Britain from a depressed nation in decline to restore its place as a thriving, prosperous world power. In the final session, we will examine Margaret Thatcher's place in history as we discuss the permanent changes she left behind in Britain, as well as her effect on politics in Europe, in the United States, and worldwide.
